London Zoo is one of the top tourist attractions in the city, attracting millions of customers every year. The zoo is open every day of the year, apart from Christmas Day, and is home to over 800 species of animals. The zoo is the oldest scientific zoo in the world and is situated on beautiful Regent’s Park. Just a short walk from Camden Town and Regent’s Park train stations, the zoo is easily accessible to tourists.

Once you head inside the zoo, you will not know where to start as there is so much to see. Penguin Beach, Gorilla Kingdom and Tiger Territory are just some of the zones that you can visit to see some of the most amazing animals on the planet. You can also visit London’s only living rainforest, where you can come cheek to cheek with monkeys, sloths and armadillos, in the Rainforest Life zone. You can get up close and personal with many of the animals, whether it be tickling an aardvark’s tummy or helping to feed the lions, just make sure you don’t get them mixed up! There are VIP packages available as well as the chance to be a zookeeper for the day or for your school to take exclusive tours ‘behind the scenes’. Throughout the year, there are special events and tours, that tell you everything from the history of the zoo to all you need to know about its inhabitants. There are also regular art exhibitions and permanent works of art on display in the zoo’s gallery.

There are 4 restaurants onsite to keep you fed and watered as you go exploring and there is an excellent gift shop, where you can pick up a souvenir featuring your favorite animal from your trip. A day at the zoo is a perfect family activity and is excellent value for money, as you can spend the whole day there before licking back in the park to round off your day out.
