Jimmy Choo shoes have become synonymous with luxury and glamour, ever since the brand launched in the 1990s. Born out of a London studio in collaboration with his fashion designer niece Sandra Choy, shoe maker Choo went on to make shoes for the fashion elite, including the late Princess Diana. Tamara Mellon, a Vogue fashion accessories editor, encouraged Choo to set up their own label, that is now one of the best known world wide.

Jimmy Choo was an immediate success, with the first boutique opening in Knightsbridge. The brand catapulted to enormous success when one of their designs, the feathered stiletto, was worn by Sarah Jessica Parker in the TV series Sex and the City. Now Choo is a pioneer in the world of celebrity fashion, with numerous celebrities donning these highly valued shoes on red carpets all over the world. With big name celebrities, like The Duchess of Cambridge and Victoria Beckham championing the brand, women all over the world pine to own a pair.

Glitter, jewels, pointed toes, feathers and micro-studs are trademark design features, all of which are locally sourced from the UK. Recently the brand has branched out and now carry different styles, such as ballet flats, loafers and boots. Edgy fashionistas around the world wait on edge for the next new release from Choo, with long waiting lists in stores all over the world. Not to be constrained, Jimmy Choo launched a men’s brand in 2011, with stylish brogues, luxury loafers and evening slippers, reinterpreting classic designs. A flagship men’s store opened in 2103 on Dover Street, which boasts a martini bar for men to indulge in a cocktail as they splash out on a pair of standout shoes.

The brand pride themselves in a strong online presence, including shoe world, an editorial channel for Choo fans and ‘ I do in Choo’s’ for brides wanting to show off their wedding outfits and shoes. With initiatives like this and stores opening across the UK, Manchester being the latest, the brand keeps on going from strength to strength. Millions of women across the globe are waiting to see what happens in the next chapter, make sure you are part of it.
