With vast wide open spaces, miles of coastline and acres of forest, Norfolk is a great destination for nature lovers and those that love outdoor sports. There are lots of opportunities for all of the family and you will definitely be able to try an activity you have never done before, turning your holiday into a great adventure.

Forest Fun

Norfolk is rich with forests, with Thetford Forest boasting over 50,000 acres of woodland, alone. You can pick up maps to enjoy one or more of the 26 nature trails on offer, where you can discover amazing wildlife, flora and fauna. There is a Go Ape activity centre on site, where children and adults can climb high in the trees and go on a woodland adventure, finishing off your route with a cool zip wire ride. There are also trails for cycling and running as well as the opportunity to take a pony ride through the woods.

Beach Activities

With miles of coastline, some areas more rugged than others, you can enjoy a wide variety of beach activities and water-sports. You can take a long ramble along the wild north west coastline or a nice relaxing walk along the beach, either way the Norfolk air will make you feel invigorated. Children can enjoy small adventures such as rock pooling and crabbing, that will keep them entertained for hours. For bigger kids, surfing and other water sports will keep the adrenalin pumping. Waters are shallow and safe along much of the Norfolk coastline, so newcomers to water sports do not have to take huge risks. On days when the winds are high, you can head out for a spot of surfing and on milder days you can enjoy paddle boarding. The great things about Norfolk is that the population is relatively low and the atmosphere is very friendly, meaning you can just strip off, put on your surf gear and not worry about leaving your belongings in the car, just get up and go.

Seal Spotting

Norfolk prides itself on being one of the best places to spot grey seals in its seas. With such a quiet and environmentally friendly spot, the seals seem to like swimming in the Norfolk seals and love to be spotted my thousands of tourists each year. Most seal watching trips take visitors to Blakeney Point. It is looked after by the National Trust and is an important breeding ground for many rare birds,as well as seals. You can also enjoy a seal boat trip out of Hunstanton, taking visitors to the Wash. Do not miss out on this once in a lifetime adventure whilst in Norfolk.

Who said that holidays need to be relaxing, if you are always on the lookout for an adventure, Norfolk is the holiday destination for you.
