Scotland has so much to offer the visitor, from vibrant cities to stunning countryside. The best way to get around is using the rail network, but how easy is it if you or one of your party is disabled? We sent broadcaster, journalist and wheelchair user Mik Scarlet to find out what Scotrail offers to it’s disabled travellers.
I’m a big fan of letting the train take the strain when travelling, especially when I’m on holiday. As a regular train user, I was really impressed at Scotrail’s provision for disabled travellers. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the trains were all well designed and the stations were easy to get round with all the facilities I needed. It really is liberating to be whisked across country while soaking up the beautiful scenary.
